Although this one looks ok: If you can afford an R9 you can afford monitors with digital inputs. Buy a budget card with VGA out and use that to drive the older monitor.

Everything seems to work. Asus VW222 (Digital) on keeping on for so long that I'm really dying to get a new monitor but this one just keeps working. Worked great with nice color and clarity Asus VW222 (Digital) it lasted. I would regularly have to hit the button on the bottom to turn it off. Then it would randomly power off and the power button failed to get it back up.
I would have to push the power button multiple times before the screen would toggle back on. After much frustration, I ended up prying the power button out thinking I could perhaps see what the problem was with it.
No fix was possible and it went into the trash at the 7 yr mark. I guess not a bad run but I didn't expect it to fail like that. Worked well for the last 8 years then I gave it to my brother after I upgraded to an Asus 27" for mine and he got the 22" to work with his new machine I bought for him for Xmas. I've used this monitor for a few years now with absolutely no problems.

Monitor still works as well Asus VW222 (Digital) the day I bought it. I've never had one that I've like as Asus VW222 (Digital), so I'm dreading the day I have to buy a different one. Wouldn't mind a HDMI input, since that is one of the things I'd like in my next and if it had that I'd use this one till it turned to dust. I've owned this monitor since now ending and it's held up with 0 dead pixels.
